Introduction to Fiduciary Practices

Working with the
Trust department.

“Introduction to Fiduciary Practices” – a service provided by Wealth Management Compliance Alliance©, a division of Pohl Consulting & Training, Inc.

A missing group for staff development is your trust operations and administrative assistant team – we offer our Introduction to Fiduciary Practices workshop. This program could also be delivered to a team of investment representatives who are being asked to more actively work with and/or refer to the Trust department.

This Forum focuses on practical, usable information that can equip your Trust and Wealth Management staff with basic information about the Trust industry that will help them understand the context in which they do their jobs.

The agenda is designed for 1) Trust Support staff (administrative assistants) 2) “Jr.” Trust Officers or Administrative Officers who have not yet obtained more comprehensive training, 3) Trust Operations staff  4) Investment Representatives/Advisors who are being asked to refer or otherwise play a role in Trust sales and/or service.

While the agenda is designed for the staff described above, more experienced team members are welcome to attend as long as they understand the focus of the agenda.  Senior staff might want to participate in a “train the trainer” mode so that they can use the material for new hires.

The Agenda for the Forum includes:

  1. Background of Fiduciary Law
  2. Define the Fiduciary Relationship
  3. Back to Trust Basics
  4. Activities Frequently Creating Fiduciary Liability
  5. Investments
  6. Discretionary Matters
  7. Prospecting for the Trust Relationship
  8. The Trust Sale “Cycle”
  9. Your Material Participation and Ongoing Involvement?
